# Business Grants Finder > Business grants finder, checked at gov.uk on 15 August 2026: R&D relief, apprenticeship funding, Innovate UK competitions, Start Up Loans and official finders. ## Key facts - The Department for Business and Trade's official finance and support finder listed 114 schemes on 15 August 2026, filterable by grant support, business stage, industry, employee count and region. - There is no general UK start-up grant. The main national scheme for a business trading under 5 years is the Start Up Loan, an unsecured personal loan of £500 to £25,000 at a fixed 7.5% a year. - For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 April 2024, HMRC states there is no restriction on claiming for subsidised costs under the merged R&D scheme or enhanced R&D intensive support, so taking a grant no longer automatically cuts an R&D claim. ## Key pages - [Business grants finder: which UK grants can you apply for?](https://businessgrantsfinder.co.uk/): the main tool, answer above the fold. - [Are there start-up business grants in the UK?](https://businessgrantsfinder.co.uk/start-up-business-grants-uk/): There is no general national start-up grant. Methodology: Every row was opened and read at the funder's own site on 15 August 2026: gov.uk for the finance and support finder, apprenticeship funding, Start Up Loans and the R&D reliefs; the Innovation Funding Service for the open competition count; the Cabinet Office Find a grant service; madesmarter.uk; and the three devolved business support services. Scheme counts are the number displayed by the live finder on that date and will move. Grant amounts are quoted only where the funder publishes them: where a scheme sets its amounts regionally or case by case, the row says so instead of estimating. This board lists national routes, not the several hundred local authority and sector schemes the official finders index. - Last updated: 2026-08-15.
